Connecting Minds and Networks

February 2024

EDITORIAL NOTE

Happy International Women's Day and Women's History Month! LebNet celebrates all the incredible roles women play – as mothers, caretakers, professionals, and community leaders.

Our Women in Tech (WiT) Community, now at 700+ members, strives to empower women in STEM, through curating programs that increase the pipeline and grow diverse talent in Tech, while enabling women to thrive and achieve their full potential. We're proud of our two key programs:

  • LebNet WiT Fellowship Program: Now in its second year, this 6-month program gives 100 Lebanese university students the tools to succeed in Tech careers. Led by Aya Mouaallem and a dedicated team, it offers workshops, networking, mentorship, and internship opportunities.

  • LebNet WiT 1:1 SMART Mentorship Program: This 6-month program pairs early- to mid-career women in Tech with mentors for career advancement, networking, and job referrals. Regular mentor-mentee meetings aid in mentees’ goals achievement, complemted by curated career development workshops. I'm thrilled to lead this initiative with a passionate team, supporting our 2024 inaugural cohort of 42 participants!

As a WiT community lead for the past 2 years, I'm deeply grateful to the WiT steering committee, volunteers, speakers, and participants for making our programs a success. This experience has been incredibly rewarding, and I hope you feel the same!

Let's continue together to champion women in tech and celebrate their achievements!
