The Silicon Valley Channel is a series of tech talks launched by LebNet and the Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (MSFEA) at the American University of Beirut (AUB). The topics of the tech talks range from robotics, 5G, tech trends and career development. 

The series was launched after LebNet and MSFEA signed a memorandum of agreement in 2019 to create a bridge between students and the Lebanese Diaspora. The Silicon Valley Channel is one of the major component in the partnerships and it aims at leveraging the expertise of LebNet’s members in North America to support college students in Lebanon. Other components include advisory, internship opportunities, talks and seminars, entrepreneurship support and mentorship, collaboration on Final Year Projects (FYP) and research with industry.

Digital Transformation in the Automobile & Transportation Industry, Feb 25, 2021: Fram Akiki, former Vice President, Electronics & Semiconductor Industry for Siemens Digital Industries Software, and President of Joun Technologies, focused on the impact of digital transformation in the automobile and transportation industry, and looked at key enabling advancements in compute, connectivity and AI. “We” wins over “I” in Winning Startups, Nov 12, 2020: Magid Abraham, founder and CEO of Neurawell Therapeutics, a pharmaceutical company developing mental health treatments, talked about startup success factors and why investors give higher importance to the team, not the idea. Warehouse Automation Overview and Trends, Oct 14, 2020: Joe Zoghzoghy, CTO at Bastian Solutions, provided an overview of the technologies employed in warehouse automation, such as Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS), Good-to-Person technologies, Autonomous Ground Vehicles, and Robotics.
