About us

LebNet is a "loosely-structured" network of US professionals of Lebanese descent working in the technology sector, mostly in the Bay Area. This network which includes more than 100 people started in 1999 and is built on relationships and volunteerism.

The agenda of LebNet is focused solely on professional and social issues. LebNet does NOT promote or allow any discussions around politics, religion, or ethnicity.

LebNet is open to all Lebanese professionals, mostly by referrals and currently includes people from Fortune 500, Venture Capitals, Start-ups, Entrepreneurs, Academia and small business owners.

All discussions are currently conducted in a group format hosted on Google Groups. The discussions are not open to the public, and are only shared with LebNet members.

Goals

  • Connect, expand, support, recruit, mentor, and learn
  • Raise visibility of the Lebanese technology community in the Bay Area
  • Support technology (IT) projects in Lebanon and in the Middle-East

Join

At recent LebNet board meeting, the board adopted a resolution to open the LebNet memberhsip to individuals meeting these 3 criteria:

1- Origin: All individuals have to be of Lebanese ancestry.
2- Profession: Individuals have to be working in the high tech sector (and related industries).
3- Location: LebNet is open to individuals above on a worldwide basis. However most of the activities will be focused on the Bay Area (Northern California).

Whether you apply for the Google group membership or the LebNet community on LinkedIn and Facebook, you are encouraged to join the remaining forums. Simply search for the LebNet group on LinkedIn or Facebook and request to join.

To comply with requirements above, when you submit your membership request:

1- Origin: State your Lebanese ancestry (i.e. born in Lebanon, born to Lebanese parents, etc.)
2- Profession: State your profession (current title and company).
3- Location: State your home location/region (for US:list City/Sate, Outside the US list City/Country).
